board of directors

The leadership board is responsible to work closely with Dr. Eggleston, Dr. Andrew Vo, and the past immediate director(s) in making their year the most successful. This board is in charge of promoting the event with flyers and email announcements, running sign-ups via googledocs for participants, getting the release form updated and signed by each participant, seeking out donors to increase the scholarship pot, encouraging participation of the faculty, assisting the University in disbursement of the scholarship funds, to seek a photographer for the event, designing and distributing the T-shirts, transportation to and from the event, maps and directions for the carpool drivers, assisting with the date selection, seeking a historian to write up the event and help get it published, manage and to managing the Hiking & Jogging website, and to execute new innovated ideas for the future! Without this board, this event would not be made possible.

INTERIM PAST DIRECTOR

SARAH BORGHEI

My name is Sarah Borghei and I’m currently a 4th year DDS at the Ostrow School of Dentistry. I’m originally from San Diego, where I was born and raised and attended UCSD as an undergrad. As now your new interim past director, I will make sure that everything runs smoothly for this event. As a team, not only are we here to make this year the best one yet, but we’ve been given the opportunity to preserve and strengthen the comradery here at USC by encouraging all students, faculty, and staff to join us in the 5th annual hiking and jogging scholarship. I hope to see you all out there for some fun in the sun, all while earning money :)

As Co-director, my main goal was to continue to inspire the Trojan Family environment for the DDS program. I believe the Hiking and Jogging Scholarship provides an outlet for serving students and faculty alike to get to know one another in a lax environment. The fact that students can jog along side their Dean is truly an unforgettable experience and builds a sense of Trojan community. Not to mention, the event brings to light the different faces of the USC program: community service representatives, ASB council members, hygiene, ethics committee proponents, researchers, and so many more facets of USC. I hope to build on that atmosphere of community and help us thrive! Fight On!"We inspire and perspire together as a family of Trojans."

CO-DIRECTOR

As co-director, I hope to encourage students to continue to participate in this awesome event. The Hiking and Jogging Scholarship is a way for students and faculty to come together and build relationships all while getting exercise and scholarship aid! I hope to build on the foundation that has been established and continue to improve to make this event a success year after year! I hope to see you on the trail having fun! Fight On!
